Kyra's Birthday party at Heard Museum

check out the name of the fossil on the wall.
Kyra wanted to have her birthday party at a museum this year, one with dinosaurs. We decided to go to the Heard Museum in McKinney. It is a nature museum which means along with artifacts there were trails to explore. The Heard is now hosting a Dinosaur walk with life-like dinos that move and roar. She invited some friends and our family and we all piled in our 2 cars and had lots of fun.

Zoe's Transportation Parade in Kindergarten

Zoe's Kindergarten class had a study on forms of transportation. Each student made a sort of vehicle. Zoe wanted to make a 'Princess Boat'. Here was her creation along with her teacher Mrs. Simpson. (And you can see Kyra on the side cheering her on.)

Kyra turn's nine!

Mrs Gravley's class

My little girl is growing up fast! We brought some cupcakes up to school for her day in class. We told Kyra she could choose where we went to eat for her birthday dinner and invited Grandma and Grandpa Donbar and Aunt Christy and Uncle Aaron with Jocelyn. We had a lot of fun. Kyra wanted an MP3 player for her present. It is a sure sign of getting older when toys are no longer a present request. We love you Kyra! You are great! Kyra and Zoe at Souper Salads. Zoe is snitching some icing Kyra and Jocelyn with her brand new MP3 player

Ahhhhhh......

Finally asleep, and together, out of my room. I had all 5 kids in bed all at the same time. No one was complaining about more drink, or he's touching me, or she's being to loud.... You get the idea. Evie is usually the easy one to get to sleep. You put her pacie in her mouth and lay her in bed, and she's out. Ellie takes the stars, moon, and the sun to be in perfect allignment until she falls asleep. Then actually getting her to stay asleep once put into bed is another cosmic encounter. So one might understand my excitement when it was only 8pm and all 5 are asleep and Bobby is at school. What will I do? I think I even giggled with excitement over my prospective night alone. Should I catch up on my year and a half behind scrapbook? Should I do laundry and then something fun? Should I just watch a movie and eat bad things on the couch? So many possibilities, so little time before bedtime. So I decided to do all of these things. First I would start the washing machine and then I would pull out my latest scrapbooking page while watching a movie and eating something yummy. Then I would be productive and creative all while feeding my inner me. I close the lid to the washer and "WAAAAA!" Ellie has woken up and being that she is in the same bed as Evie, she has woken her up too. I say "WAAAAAA!!!!!"

Lake Dallas Homecoming

Nothing says fall like a good homecoming parade. The kids got so much candy we will be passing out the majority on Halloween. (Neighbors, you have been forewarned.) Who knew Lake Dallas were Steelers fans! This is an elementary age league. They start 'em young in Texas! And we couldn't have the Steelers without the Cowboys :)

Fall is Here!!

Bring on the long sleeves but no coats. Bring on the hats but no gloves. The chill but no snow. I love this time of year. Bobby's sister Amy made these hats for the girls and I was so excited for them to finally wear them. This was taken at the end of September. The weather has gotten a little warmer so no need for the hats again since this picture but it has been perfect play-outside-weather.

6 months old twins

I know I say this everytime, I can't believe how fast it has gone. It is rediculous! I am having so much fun with them. They learned to roll over this month and they are rolling all over the place. They also do some funny things. Evie is so funny when you talk with her, she opens her mouth and smiles and acts like she is going to converse with you. She is still the very laid back girl of the 2. Evie has had a busy month. We found out she has renal reflux. She had a urine infection that caused us to further investigate. Her urine is refluxing back into her kidneys so she is on a low dosage of antibiotics right now and we will keep hoping she will grow out of it. She is such a smiley baby. Everyone is always brought to grins when they talk to her. We are so enjoying these babies. They are such great additions to our family and we can't wait to see what more they have in store with for us.

Here in these pictures we just bought another seat for the bathtub. We couldn't help taking some pics of their play together. Evie just couldn't help leaving her leg on Ellie. Ellie didn't seem to mind. They are so funny about each other's personal space.
